Voce was formed in 2006 by a group of singers committed both to making excellent music and to making a difference in their community. Under the leadership of Artistic Director, Mark Singleton, and Executive Director, Thomas Cooke, Voce, Inc. was incorporated in May, 2006 and performed its first benefit concerts in October, 2006 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Voce’s performances have featured choral works of all periods and styles. American composer Jason McCoy has heralded Voce for its "exquisite musicianship" and for its "fearlessness" in programming and performance.
At its very first concert, Voce auctioned off an original painting by American artist Joel Sager, launching a tradition of exploiting the synergies of different art forms. |
